Hi, my name is Glenn. I’m not crazy. I play music and I’m trying to start two bands.
The second is a covers band that plays the played-out covers that people rent for parties and the like (read: paying gigs). It sounds fun to me.
The first is an original black and thrash metal band that veers into jazz and punk once in a while. Here are some of the songs I want to hear band-ized, all recorded by me in my dungeon under the influence of about two legal-ish drugs:
I’m based in the Seattle area–Roosevelt neighborhood. Between CafĂ© Racer and Whole Foods Market. Have practice space at home, car, guitar and bass gear. I’m a student, stay-at-home father of two, and I intern for KEXP as a contributor to their blog.
Finishing up at U of Washington now–on my last class. Graduating this summer. Job should follow, if all goes according to plan, in which case I’ll have a little extra cash to buy some equipment I’m lacking–a proper preamp, more sound padding, etc.
I’d like to call HTR a recording studio, but the truth is I need more equipment. But I have stars in my eyes and I’m gonna find a way to make it work, and I’m gonna record every band in Seattle that’s cool, and I’m gonna make those recordings sound awesome.
Got a few connections in the local Seattle scene, and I go to a lot of metal shows. Anyone catch Yob, Lesbian and Samothrace at the Highline? How about Ubik, Diminished Men and Spacebag? Bitches Crystal, Steradian, Jungfrau, The People Now, Bloodshot Barrels, Sunn O))), Wolves in the Throne Room, Blonde Redhead, Boris? I’ve been around. Gone to most venues around here. I even saw Tori Amos in Seattle–twice–with my wife. We saw Slint together at the Showbox too. That was a magical evening. This town is great for attracting awesome bands.
